Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required, trade school training preferred
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, overtime and holidays as needed on an emergency basis
- Ability to travel and stay out of town when required
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Ability to lift and carry loads up to 75 pounds
- Ability to function in all weather conditions
- Knowledge and awareness of safety policies
- Ability to climb poles with proper safety equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read blueprints or schematics a plus
- General knowledge of mechanical devices, hand tools, and basic equipment operation
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact with customers and co-workers
- Knowledge of computer, tablet and smartphone operations
Job Duties
- Assist aerial lineman by preparing materials, tools, and equipment needed for overhead line work
- Act as a spotter for aerial lineman to ensure safety
- Provide support by pulling and feeding cables, attaching hardware, and securing work areas
- Assist with traffic control and safety flagging as needed
- Climb utility poles using gaffs to place cables on pole per system design and specifications
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Maintain and handle all tools, equipment and assets safely and responsibly
