Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and open to close
  • Ability to lead and motivate assigned teams of F&B hosts
  • Willingness to assist with F&B-related positions for continuous operation
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to speak with guests directly when leadership is not present
  • Ability and willingness to abide by all state and local alcohol regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and coordinate multiple priorities
  • Ability to follow direction, multi-task and work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance is a plus
  • Ability to stand, walk and remain on feet for majority of the workday
  • Ability to stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat or reach above shoulders occasionally
  • Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods while using a computer or POS equipment
  • Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food prep equipment
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift or hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more

Job Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or at least 2 years undergraduate study in Supply Chain, Hospitality, Business Management, Event Management or related major
  • 1 plus years of previous work experience preferably in a related role
  • Bartender/Server certification (TIPS, RAMP, I-PACT or similar) or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of bar and alcohol serving facilities
  • Lead by example and represent Adventureland’s core values
  • Mentor and coach assigned hosts
  • Perform essential duties of all assigned F&B positions and provide backfill
  • Participate in supervision activities including hiring, orientation, training, and discipline
  • Ensure compliance with break requirements according to Iowa law
  • Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping
  • Oversee multiple bar venues and ensure profitable and compliant operations
  • Lead operations of F&B areas and demonstrate leadership
  • Complete special projects to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Ensure regulatory compliance including alcohol service and safety
  • Plan and execute large-scale events like Oktoberfest
  • Coordinate with management teams to ensure smooth operation
  • Work with F&B leadership on special events and documentation
  • Maintain consistency in recipes and service
  • Manage product ordering, inventory stocking, and rotation
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, marketing, and efficiency
  • Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally
  • Participate in social activities with international students
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
