Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Current licensed or certified in the state assigned: EMT-Paramedic
Current CPR and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years clinical or hospital setting experience

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent including completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements
Current state licensure or certification such as EMT-Paramedic
CPR and AED certification
Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
Completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience

Job Duties

Determine donor eligibility including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, and blood testing
Manage and evaluate donor reactions per standard operating procedures
Follow medical emergency protocols including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care
Refer medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs including donor safety and eligibility concerns
Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees
Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further occupational health evaluation
Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations of pandemic threats as directed by EHS or Medical Affairs
