Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience or education in caregiving, cooking, or related fields
  • experience in an adult residential care facility or a facility serving individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, and/or mental health diagnoses
  • ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • obtain and maintain current First Aid and Food Handlers Card
  • fulfill annual training hour requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals following procedures, menus, and recipes
  • accommodate special dietary requirements and individual preferences of residents
  • complete meal preparation for the following day's meals
  • ensure houses are stocked with daily food necessities
  • maintain accurate daily paperwork and submit it promptly
  • organize and clean the refrigerator, kitchen cabinets, and food carts daily
  • conduct basic food hygiene training for all care staff involved in food handling and delivery
  • implement proper dating procedures for stored foods
  • ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safe storage of all kitchen equipment
  • uphold statutory health and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas including monitoring meal temperatures
  • adhere to recycling procedures
  • monitor meal charts and communication logs for any updates
  • report medical concerns or observations
  • adhere to established policies and procedures
  • participate in required training sessions and performance improvement efforts
  • attend department meetings
  • perform other related duties as assigned
