Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and hospitality finance
- Experience with hotel industry systems preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role ideally in hospitality
- Proficient in accounting software, PMS systems, and Microsoft Excel
- CPA or hospitality finance certification a plus
- Strong understanding of hospitality finance and operational needs
- Excellent communication skills to explain financial data to non-financial leaders
- Experience building collaborative relationships with operations teams
Job Duties
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll posting, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and brand requirements
- Monitor and analyze financial performance identifying trends, variances, and opportunities to improve profitability
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that align with operational goals
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and accurate recording of revenues, expenses, and adjustments
- Oversee cash management procedures and safeguard company assets through effective internal controls
- Support audits by preparing documentation and coordinating with auditors
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations including sales, occupancy, and payroll taxes
- Train and mentor accounting team members fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Serve as a financial resource to leadership providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
