Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • One year experience in educational recruitment or admissions
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident
  • Demonstrated intercultural competency
  • Verbal and written English communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and related software
  • Experience with group presentations

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in higher education, student affairs, international relations, psychology, sales, communications, liberal arts, or related field
  • One year of experience in educational recruitment or admissions
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status as required to serve as Designated Service Officer
  • Demonstrated intercultural competency
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Customer service skills with ability to communicate complex information tactfully
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and customer relations software
  • Experience providing group presentations
  • Preferred: three years of college or university admissions experience
  • Knowledge of international student admissions and diverse cultures
  • Familiarity with U.S. immigration regulations
  • Research skills and understanding of educational requirements
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory laws such as FERPA and Minnesota Data Privacy Act
  • Experience with customer relationship management software
  • Independent and motivated work style
  • Understanding of student information systems and degree audit tools
  • Bilingual or proficiency in Somali, Spanish, Arabic, or Hmong

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary contact and Designated School Official for international student admissions
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations and maintain documentation
  • Manage prospect generation, inquiry management, and application processing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community leaders, and prospective students and parents
  • Provide presentations and represent the college at outreach events, educational fairs, and high school visits
  • Arrange campus visits, tours, and support outreach events
  • Collaborate to advance the college's strategic goals of equity and cultural responsiveness
