Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of relevant higher education work experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff and student leaders
- Availability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Passing required pre-employment background checks including criminal, financial credit, and sex offender registry
- Ability to perform physical activities such as sitting, talking, standing, walking, lifting

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant higher education work experience
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with Banner, Slate, and Workday
- Knowledge of student development theories, student transition, and leadership development models
- Ability to teach in classroom or workshop settings
- Strong counseling and research skills
- Understanding of higher education administration, personnel and fiscal management
- Multicultural and diversity sensitivity
- Event planning, programming, and management skills
- High ethical standards
- Ability to participate in related professional associations
Job Duties
- Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive orientation experiences for new freshman, transfer, online, and nontraditional student populations including scheduling and confirming attendance
- Assist in the development and execution of all on-campus recruitment events including Discover, Experience, Transfermation, and Orientation
- Assist the Communications, Customer Service, and Events Manager in developing communication plans for new student recruitment and on-campus events
- Oversee the leadership development and growth of students by recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and mentoring student leaders
- Serve as a department liaison to the university community including academic colleges, faculty, departments, and students
- Assist in the development and management of publications and communication plans
- Serve as an advocate for first-year, new transfer, and transitional students
- Provide comprehensive customer service in a high volume, fast-paced environment resolving most issues on the spot and referring students appropriately in person, phone, email, and other platforms
- Collaborate with enrollment services and related departments to develop and explain policies and procedures to students
- Anticipate students' needs by considering the enrollment cycle and proactively address concerns and barriers
- Supervise a Customer Service Specialist who manages the main university line
- Hire, train, and supervise multiple student assistants or extra labor for customer service and information dissemination
- Serve on university committees as appropriate
- Assist with assessment and evaluation of programs and prepare reports
- Oversee fiscal management of orientation resources
- Work regular business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and attend conferences, trainings, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
