Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in business, sociology, public administration, or related field
  • at least one year of experience in program administration or related area
  • applicable equivalencies may be considered
  • ability to work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm
  • reliable and non-disruptive attendance
  • compliance with the university's pre-employment screenings including criminal background and sex offender registry checks
  • proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in business, sociology, public administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • at least one year of experience in program administration or related area
  • knowledge of program degree requirements and equivalencies
  • knowledge of campus and community resources
  • knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to academic and social programs
  • ability to handle records and materials confidentially
  • ability to provide courteous, professional, and cheerful customer service
  • ability to evaluate information and formulate recommendations
  • ability to compile information into reports
  • ability to execute projects timely within budget and policy compliance
  • preferred two years experience in higher education administration
  • preferred experience with university software such as Workday, Slate, and R25
  • preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • preferred two years experience in event coordination or academic advising

Job Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff
  • provide administrative support for the department including answering phone and email communications
  • purchase office supplies, textbooks, and regalia
  • assist faculty and staff with special projects
  • reconcile procurement and travel cards and conduct expense reports and reimbursements
  • submit scholarship documentation
  • maintain physical spaces by recommending improvements and coordinating repairs
  • develop procedures to support degree audits, student advising, and management of student records
  • perform program research and data collection for reports and accreditation reviews
  • monitor the progress of Student Learning Measures (SLM)
  • help coordinate and execute departmental events including banquets, receptions, and luncheons
  • ensure regular and reliable attendance and maintain collegial working relationships
