Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma and two years of experience working in an office setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, listening, formal written, email, web, and social media
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex work environment
  • Appreciation for the value of honors education and ability to convey that value to stakeholders
  • Ability to provide complex information to all stakeholders
  • Ability to complete a variety of tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions
  • Experience working in a higher education setting preferred
  • Experience developing and managing websites and social media preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide administrative support to various departments including course scheduling, registration, recruitment, event planning, career development, social media, alumni relations, admission, scholarships, orientation, development, travel, and the summer Schwanke Honors Institute
  • Oversee and coordinate student work schedules and building operations
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic files
  • Update and maintain the Davidson Honors College website
  • Run and interpret reports
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Davidson Honors College over the phone and in person
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to support college initiatives
