Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree or high school diploma with relevant administrative experience
- minimum 4 years administrative and event planning experience (for associate’s degree)
- minimum 6 years administrative and event planning experience (for high school diploma)
- excellent leadership skills
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- customer service oriented
- proficiency with office and accounting software
- event planning ability
- budget management experience
- project coordination skills
- ability to multitask and supervise students
- ability to work onsite at University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Job Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of administrative and event planning experience
- high school diploma with 6 years of related experience

- strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication

- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, and accounting software
- experience in event planning
- demonstrated budget management skills
- strong project coordination and timeline management

- knowledge of UT policies (preferred)
- experience in higher education event planning (preferred)
- bachelor’s degree with 2 years of higher education administrative experience (preferred)
Job Duties
- Perform all administrative functions for the department
- manage office operations
- assist with financial planning and oversight of funds
- supervise work study students
- act as liaison between campus units and interdisciplinary programs
- coordinate tenure-track faculty searches and lecturer appointments
- prepare and process faculty personnel and student hire documents
- organize and document department meetings
- maintain data on student programs and accreditation
- enter and manage course schedules in Banner
- coordinate curriculum submissions
- assist with budget creation and financial reporting
- process scholarship requests and departmental invoices
- make purchases and reconcile charges
- coordinate computer upgrades and inventory
- plan, organize, and execute events and meetings
- develop event procedures and protocols
- manage event logistics including travel, catering, and security
- communicate with stakeholders and vendors
- supervise event personnel
- assess event effectiveness and perform post-event analysis
- collaborate with communications for event promotion
