Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' experience preferably in home health or healthcare
  • Graduation from a one or two year business college preferred
  • At least eighteen years of age
  • Able to type 50 words per minute
  • Word processing skills
  • Personal computer skills
  • Business machine knowledge
  • Medical terminology knowledge

  • Familiarity with business machines

Job Duties

  • Provides assistance to the Executive Director/Administrator, preserving confidentiality
  • Maintains files, supplies, postage and general office condition
  • Handles all correspondence and word processing
  • Maintains minutes of meetings
  • Answers telephone inquiries and channels them appropriately
  • Files clinical notes after recording on the weekly ledger
  • Sends physician's orders for signature and tracks receipt
  • Closes patient clinical records upon discharge
  • Maintains current patient statistics using Management Information System
  • Maintains ledger cards for new patients
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director/Administrator
