Job Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication including fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing
  • Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
  • You must be registered for Selective Service if applicable
  • May be required to complete a one year probationary period
  • Must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of the announcement

Job Qualifications

  • At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level
  • Four years of education above the high school level
  • A combination of specialized experience and education equaling 100% of the requirements
  • Specialized experience providing administrative functions such as sorting and distributing mail and packages, receiving telephone calls and visitors, maintaining office supplies, and maintaining office files and records
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary receptionist and receive telephone calls and visitors to the office
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages for the office
  • Purchase office supplies and ensure accuracy upon delivery
  • Assist with travel authorization requests and review travel vouchers
  • Maintain office files and records
  • Produce a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions in one or more types of office automation software
  • Increase responsibilities and handle more complex assignments as training and experience progress
