Job Requirements
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
- 2-3 years of secretarial experience, home health preferred but not required
- must have a valid California driver license and provide current proof of auto insurance
- ability to adhere to attendance and punctuality policies
- ability to follow leave of absence and paid time off policies
- ability to comply with department dress code
- skill in telephone etiquette
- ability to meet job physical standards including vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and lifting up to 10 pounds
- ability to function effectively under pressure and maintain good working relationships
- willingness to work in office and travel locally to hospital and physician offices as needed
- ability to tolerate repetitive hand and arm motions
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2-3 years of secretarial experience preferred
- working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office applications
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to type at least 50 words per minute
- knowledge of office practices and procedures
- understanding of payroll calculations and processes
- detail-oriented
- ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- ability to operate basic office equipment
- ability to work independently with moderate supervision
Job Duties
- Operate multi-line phone system and direct calls
- Greet, screen and direct office visitors
- Sort, distribute and route incoming mail and packages
- Assist patients, family members, visitors, doctors, nurses or employees with inquiries
- Support department with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Transcribe agency minutes and reports
- Maintain department manuals and forms
- Perform typing and correspondence
- Prepare departmental reports
- Audit discharged patient charts for accuracy and compliance
- Control inventory and order supplies
- Enter data for staff supply requisitions and employee timesheets
- Provide coverage for monthly clerical audits and processing physician orders
- Calculate timesheets as needed
- Enter field staff timesheets into timekeeping system
- Assist with volunteer coordination
- Perform safety officer duties and prepare safety reports
- Ensure completion of annual safety requirements
- Meet departmental and hospital processing deadlines
- Participate in project teams for process improvement
