Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • two years experience in general clerical and office procedures within the last ten years
  • knowledge of switchboard operations
  • proficiency in standard office equipment
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions
  • valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license
  • approved motor vehicle report
  • reliable transportation with valid proof of insurance
  • ability to perform physical tasks including seeing, hearing, reaching, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds
  • must perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • two years clerical experience in an office setting
  • specialized clerical training may substitute for experience
  • knowledge of switchboard operations
  • understanding of standard office practices and procedures
  • excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • ability to communicate effectively with the public and officials
  • skill in operating a variety of office machines
  • ability to maintain accurate records

Job Duties

  • greet the public
  • handle telephone calls
  • assist with fax and copy machines as requested
  • provide secretarial support
  • deliver clerical and administrative support services
  • maintain front desk records with precision and accuracy
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, governmental agencies, and the public
