Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- meets agency general employment qualifications
- meets paraprofessional qualifications per Divisions of Facility Services and Mental Health, NC
- valid driver's license and safe driving record
- ability to work with Microsoft applications
- able to operate standard kitchen equipment
- able to drive a 12-passenger van and get in and out unassisted
- ability to read, write, and complete necessary documentation
- ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and team members
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPPA regulations
- ability to interpret instructions and draw conclusions
Job Qualifications
- Meets general qualifications for employment as per agency policies
- at least 21 years of age
- high school diploma or equivalent required, advanced education preferred
- no prior experience required but preferred
- meets paraprofessional qualifications per state regulations
- education, experience, skills, and abilities compatible with job responsibilities
- valid driver's license and safe driving record
Job Duties
- Manifests in daily action a Christian spirit and lifestyle
- demonstrates knowledge of the agency's structure, services, policies and procedures
- assures residents exercise rights and provides assistance as needed
- maintains confidentiality regarding residents and records
- assists with transportation and fills in for direct support staff
- aids with household shopping, meal preparation, medication administration, and cleaning
- helps with medical appointments
- reviews and mails auto reports
- tallies personal care documentation for administrator signature
- completes filing in resident charts and personnel files
- assists administrator with tracking staff training needs and paperwork updates
- helps plan and complete activity calendars and newsletters
- records minutes of meetings
- tracks and schedules maintenance for vans
- maintains photo albums and scrapbooks
- manages office supplies requisitions
- assists with resident cash and check closing
- manages special assistance checks
- tracks therapeutic leave forms
- completes forms for events
- manages forms files and emergency supply inventory
- completes food inventory paperwork
- assists with admissions and quarterly audits
- helps with gift forms and thank you notes
- handles resident wage paperwork for social security
- supports performance quality improvement reports
- facilitates contacts for maintenance issues
- tallies prompt levels for progress notes
- ensures safety data sheets are current
- schedules and assists with fire extinguisher and emergency light checks
- follows sanitation, safety, and building code requirements
- cooperates with licensing agencies
- performs other duties as assigned
