Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years of experience in parks and recreation or related field
- valid driver's license
- ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to operate standard office equipment and related software
- ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to adapt to changing work environments and schedules
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- one to two years of experience in parks and recreation preferred
- valid driver's license (NC preferred)
- knowledge of records management principles and current office practices
- skilled in planning, organizing, and promoting special events
- proficient in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- ability to multitask and manage projects
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- certified or willing to obtain bloodborne pathogens (BBP) and CPR/AED certification preferred
- knowledge of ICS/NIMS courses FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
Job Duties
- assist the Special Events Supervisor in planning, implementing, and evaluating special events
- work a non-traditional schedule including nights and weekends with limited supervision
- prepare program promotional materials and communicate regularly with employees and participants
- assist in setting up and breaking down facilities for meetings, classes, programs, and events
- manage inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring accurate tracking and storage
- collect fees for events, memberships, rentals, and classes and maintain payment records
- perform basic administrative tasks including typing, copying, faxing, and responding to inquiries
