Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in appropriate area
- AOS or AAS in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, Fine Arts and Hospitality
- professional or educational experience in high-level kitchens, bakeshops, restaurants, or higher education institutions
- physically capable of performing essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in appropriate area with an AOS or AAS in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, Fine Arts and Hospitality
- experience teaching at the college level
- effective communication skills
- knowledge of or experience in implementing a variety of teaching strategies
- experience with computerized student record management
- ability to develop educational programs
- ability to teach effectively at the college level
- experience teaching a diverse student body
- good knowledge of field of specialization
- initiative and resourcefulness
- industrious and dependable
- ability to get along well with others
Job Duties
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject
- provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s)
- prepares course syllabi and outcomes
- encourages student participation
- evaluates students' performance based on course learning outcomes
- establishes and maintains an organized and disciplined classroom environment
- is responsive to students and provides students with assistance and guidance
- responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative College environment
- adheres to all College, Department as well as applicable County policies
