Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of related occupational experience as a sous chef or higher overseeing six or more employees within the last ten years
  • Current SERV Safe Certification

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated competency in teaching field
  • Five years of related occupational experience as a sous chef or higher overseeing six or more employees
  • Current SERV Safe Certification
  • Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
  • Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
  • Skill in presenting subject matter
  • Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
  • Skill in the use of computers and job-related software
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of student information systems

Job Duties

  • Provide instruction for credited culinary arts core courses according to syllabus
  • Use instructional technologies effectively with excellent communication skills
  • Teach savory food preparation and holistic food presentation including various culinary techniques
  • Integrate nutrition, food safety, and cost control in instruction
  • Monitor students' use of supplies, materials, and equipment
  • Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate records
  • Attend meetings, enforce institution policies, assist with student recruitment and job placements, serve on committees, perform additional duties as assigned
