- Associate's degree in culinary arts from an accredited college or university
- Five years of related occupational experience as a sous chef or higher overseeing six or more employees within the last ten years
- Current SERV Safe Certification

- Demonstrated competency in teaching field
- Five years of related occupational experience as a sous chef or higher overseeing six or more employees
- Current SERV Safe Certification
- Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
- Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
- Skill in presenting subject matter
- Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
- Skill in the use of computers and job-related software
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of student information systems
Job Duties
- Provide instruction for credited culinary arts core courses according to syllabus
- Use instructional technologies effectively with excellent communication skills
- Teach savory food preparation and holistic food presentation including various culinary techniques
- Integrate nutrition, food safety, and cost control in instruction
- Monitor students' use of supplies, materials, and equipment
- Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate records
- Attend meetings, enforce institution policies, assist with student recruitment and job placements, serve on committees, perform additional duties as assigned
