Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid ServSafe Manager Certificate or other ODH approved food safety and sanitation training certificate
  • minimum of 2 years professional food production experience
  • knowledge of professional dining operations
  • associate degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • working knowledge of basic cooking methods and large volume production techniques
  • proficiency in operating commercial kitchen equipment
  • experience with inventory purchasing and storage procedures including FIFO
  • ability to maintain sanitary and safe lab conditions
  • strong organizational and time-management skills
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Job Duties

  • Open and close the culinary arts lab
  • supervise student activities during laboratory sessions
  • ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
  • organize and set up the culinary lab for classes
  • manage inventory and purchasing of supplies
  • maintain documentation and logs for lab activities
  • coordinate with culinary instructors to plan lab experiences
