Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, FACS, or related field
  • Current Illinois Food Service Manager's Certification and Instructor Certification
  • Two years teaching experience in college-level culinary arts courses
  • Equivalent of one year’s full-time non-teaching work experience in hospitality or FACS
  • Ability to develop course materials and assessments
  • Proficiency with educational technology and online teaching tools
  • Commitment to institutional policies including academic integrity and accessibility

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, FACS, or related area
  • Current credential complying with State of Illinois Food Service Manager's Certification and Instructor Certification
  • Two years teaching college courses in culinary arts
  • Equivalent of one year's full-time non-teaching work experience in hospitality or FACS area
  • Minimum of three years teaching culinary arts in a college or university preferred

Job Duties

  • Deliver course content that aligns with curriculum standards and student learning outcomes
  • Develop course syllabi, assignments, and assessments reflecting current industry practices
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment supporting diverse learning styles
  • Utilize technology to enhance course delivery and student engagement across online, hybrid, or face-to-face modalities
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and grades
  • Adhere to mid-term verification and final grade posting deadlines
  • Comply with institutional policies on academic integrity and accessibility
