Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or higher and 2 years of experience
  • or associate's degree in culinary arts and 6 years of experience
  • at least five years of industry experience required
  • minimum two years of industry management experience
  • current ServSafe certification required
  • residency in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Delaware
  • demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates
  • commitment to professional growth
  • familiarity with innovative teaching methods and course management systems
  • ability to support diverse student populations
  • alignment with community college mission

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree or higher with 2 years of experience
  • associate's degree in culinary arts with 6 years of experience
  • at least five years of industry experience
  • at least two years of industry management experience
  • current ServSafe certification
  • current ACF membership or equivalent professional association preferred
  • demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities
  • community college teaching experience preferred
  • evidence of continued professional growth
  • commitment to innovative instructional techniques and diverse teaching activities
  • experience incorporating information literacy, technology, research, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into curriculum
  • knowledge of competency-based education preferred
  • commitment to continual assessment
  • dedication to working with diverse populations and under-resourced groups
  • understanding of community college philosophy

Job Duties

  • teach assigned courses following the course outline of record
  • instruct and support students with diverse backgrounds using culturally relevant pedagogy
  • prepare course materials and employ effective teaching methods
  • support a philosophy of instruction focusing on critical thinking and analysis
  • collaborate with department members and compliance, assessment and research teams to support planning and continuous improvement
  • incorporate technology, course management systems, and innovative instructional techniques
  • assess the teaching-learning process continuously
