Job Requirements

  • master’s degree in English, literature, composition, rhetoric, writing, or related subfield or any master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in English, literature, composition, rhetoric, writing, or written communications
  • doctorate degree preferred
  • experience working in higher education particularly teaching and curriculum design
  • proficiency with learning management systems especially Canvas
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, video conferencing tools, and internet use
  • strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • deliver engaging and effective courses in communications
  • align teaching activities with the Faculty Workload Policy and Baker College Learning Model
  • utilize learning management systems such as Canvas for course delivery and student interaction
  • assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
  • contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • participate actively in Faculty Growth and Evaluation Process
  • engage in committees, projects, and professional development opportunities
