Job Requirements
- Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards
- No substitution for educational requirements
- Minimum of an associate's degree in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry
- Minimum of three years experience as a sous chef or higher management position or dining room manager experience with food and beverage background
- Able to work at ACC Highland or Elgin campuses
- Able to teach morning, afternoon, and occasional Saturday courses
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate's degree in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three years experience as a sous chef or higher management position in food service operations
- Minimum of three years dining room manager experience with food and beverage background for teaching front-of-house courses
- Proficiency with online learning management systems such as Blackboard
- Competence with computer applications including PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and Google Docs
- Demonstrated ability to organize kitchen setup, production, and sanitation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to student success
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience with Point of Service (POS) systems such as TOAST
Job Duties
- Prepare and teach culinary and baking/pastry courses to a multicultural student population based on department-approved learning outcomes
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely and clear feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations
- Provide teaching and mentoring services without discrimination and in a manner that supports student success
- Remain current in the culinary or baking/pastry field through professional development activities
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final grades
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students and enhance retention and success
- Comply with all college policies and professional standards including appropriate use of learning management systems
