Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- willingness to work with residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia
- minimum of one or more years working with the elderly in group activities
- knowledge of activities for senior adults
- experience working in memory care
- ability to lead therapeutic activities
- ability to organize, document, and implement programs
- excellent interpersonal skills with high energy and enthusiasm
- ability to read and write English
- ability to follow state and federal regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- preferred bachelor’s degree
- preferred activity certification from an approved course as required by the State of Texas
- willingness to work with Alzheimer’s and dementia residents
- minimum of one year experience working with the elderly providing group activities
- required knowledge of activities for senior adults
- required experience working in memory care
- ability to lead therapeutic activities for various resident levels
- ability to organize, document, and implement detailed programs
- outstanding interpersonal skills
- ability to read and write English
- ability to follow state and federal activity regulations
Job Duties
- Model a servant attitude towards others

- be friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers
- ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by reporting hazards
- assist with development of activity programs that meet therapeutic needs within budget
- think and work creatively to adapt to changing resident personalities
- work across three units managing time and teamwork
- keep bulletin boards current and attractively decorated
- complete admission quality activities assessments
- lead activities, book entertainment, coordinate volunteers
- provide group and one-on-one activities including personal care as needed
- encourage resident participation in activities
- distribute activity calendars
- coordinate activity events including set-up and food with other departments
- maintain pets and pet environments as assigned
- assist with transportation during activities
- assist with purchasing supplies for events
- enhance and develop programming including music on assigned floors
- follow dementia training program expectations in collaboration with nursing staff
