Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- 1 plus years experience in recreation, hospitality or similar field preferred
- At least 2 years experience working with intellectual disabled population
- Ability to lift 15 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk less than 33 percent of the time
- Ability to sit between 33 and 66 percent of the time
- Ability to use hands for handling or feeling over 66 percent of the time
- Correctable vision
- Full ability to talk and hear
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Experience in recreation, hospitality or similar field preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience working with intellectual disabled population
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and external vendors
- Knowledge of safety and inclusivity practices
Job Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to residents
- Design activities that include physical, cognitive and social stimulation
- Assist in purchasing items for activities
- Train and guide workers in activity execution
- Promote participation and foster a positive environment
- Evaluate and improve activities based on feedback
- Maintain records and reports on participation and outcomes
- Ensure safety and inclusivity of all participants
- Maintain communication with residents, staff and administration
- Supervise and train volunteers and support staff
- Manage supplies and equipment for activities
- Develop schedules and calendars for activities
- Participate in emergency evacuations
- Perform other duties as directed
