Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 1 plus years experience in recreation, hospitality or similar field preferred
  • At least 2 years experience working with intellectual disabled population
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk less than 33 percent of the time
  • Ability to sit between 33 and 66 percent of the time
  • Ability to use hands for handling or feeling over 66 percent of the time
  • Correctable vision
  • Full ability to talk and hear
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in recreation, hospitality or similar field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with intellectual disabled population
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and external vendors
  • Knowledge of safety and inclusivity practices

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to residents
  • Design activities that include physical, cognitive and social stimulation
  • Assist in purchasing items for activities
  • Train and guide workers in activity execution
  • Promote participation and foster a positive environment
  • Evaluate and improve activities based on feedback
  • Maintain records and reports on participation and outcomes
  • Ensure safety and inclusivity of all participants
  • Maintain communication with residents, staff and administration
  • Supervise and train volunteers and support staff
  • Manage supplies and equipment for activities
  • Develop schedules and calendars for activities
  • Participate in emergency evacuations
  • Perform other duties as directed
