Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certified Nurse Aide preferred
- Experience in activity or recreational department preferred
- Ability to lift and transfer residents safely
- Ability to stand, walk, and communicate effectively
- Must be able to work weekend shifts
- Must be able to attend in-service training
- Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50+ lbs frequently
- Ability to assist residents with mobility
- Must comply with equal opportunity employment practices
Job Qualifications
- A school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Certified Nurse Aide certification is preferred
- Previous experience in activity or recreational department in long-term care or related industry is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well with elderly and disabled individuals
- Ability to organize and facilitate group activities
- Basic computer skills for calendar and newsletter preparation
- Reliable and punctual
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
Job Duties
- Assist the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing resident activity programs
- Facilitate individual and group activities based on residents' needs
- Ensure activities are available for both high and low functioning residents
- Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities
- Provide one-on-one activities for bedfast residents and document accordingly
- Help prepare monthly activity calendars and post them visibly
- Assist in generating the facility newsletter
- Participate in community events related to facility interests
- Attend necessary in-service training sessions
- Assist residents to and from activities
- Support activity programs including Residents' Council and weekend/night activities
- Deliver resident mail daily
- Perform other duties as assigned by Activity Director or Administrator
