Job Requirements
- school diploma or equivalent
- ability to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs
- effective communication skills
- physical capacity to assist residents including pushing, pulling, sliding, transferring
- willingness to work part-time with flexible hours
- ability to support group and individual activities
- capability to document appropriately and maintain records
Job Qualifications
- a school diploma or its equivalent is preferred
- a certified nurse aide is preferred
- previous experience working in activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferred
Job Duties
- facilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents
- ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residents
- assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities
- provide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate record
- assist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors
- assist with generating the facility newsletter
- participate in community events related to the interest of the facility
- attend in-services as necessary
- assist residents to and from activities
- assist with activity program including Residents' Council and night and weekend activities as needed
- deliver resident mail daily
- other duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or Administrator
