The company is currently offering a part-time position for an Activities Specialist/Fitness Coordinator with shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and a competitive pay rate of up to $25 per hour. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about promoting physical, mental, and social engagement among senior residents. The Activities Specialist/Fitness Coordinator is responsible for designing and leading various programs that enhance the wellbeing of residents by encouraging active lifestyles through tailored fitness exercises, wellness activities, and recreational events. This position blends creativity with compassion, requiring someone who genuinely loves to make people smile and enjoys helping older adults stay healthy and active.
In this role, you will conduct needs assessments or surveys to identify interests and satisfaction levels regarding wellness and fitness programs. You will also demonstrate the correct usage of fitness equipment including resistance machines, cardio machines, free weights, and fitness assessment devices to ensure safe and effective workouts. Maintaining and arranging upkeep of fitness equipment and facilities is also part of your duties to guarantee a safe environment for residents. Additionally, the coordinator will sustain wellness and fitness schedules, records, and reports to track progress and engagement. Providing individual support or wellness counseling related to fitness and nutrition adds a personalized touch to the services offered at Wesley Enhanced Living.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fitness training, recreational activities, and programming tailored for older adults. A creative, energetic, and compassionate personality is key to motivating residents and engaging them in meaningful and enjoyable fitness activities. Educational qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. Preferred licensure and certifications include a Personal Trainer Certification or equivalent qualifications in Exercise Science or Kinesiology.

Job Requirements
