Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to assist residents by pushing wheelchairs
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting and manage art and cleaning supplies
  • Experience in human services or related roles
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to uphold corporate compliance and confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred
  • Strong leadership and proactive approach
  • Knowledge of dementia-related illnesses
  • Experience engaging residents in group and individual settings
  • Creative and positive mindset
  • Comfortable with computers and technology
  • Certification as Certified Dementia Practitioner or Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist recommended
  • Completion of a 36-hour Activity Director course is a plus

Job Duties

  • Plan and implement activities tailored to resident needs and interests
  • Foster relationships with residents and adapt programs accordingly
  • Collaborate with Care Partners and other departments to enhance resident quality of life
  • Design engaging event materials and update digital displays
  • Market programs creatively to encourage participation
  • Assist residents during activities providing guidance and encouragement
  • Attend care plan meetings and family conferences to provide engagement updates
  • Maintain attendance records and coordinate animal, plant care, and special outings
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education on dementia best practices
  • Utilize communication and program management systems such as Caremerge, Touchtown, MyUnity, Microsoft Office, and Relias
  • Adhere to corporate compliance policies ensuring resident confidentiality and well-being
