Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in activity coordination or life enrichment preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Physical ability to assist in activities and transport residents
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or senior care environment
  • Ability to plan and coordinate diverse activity programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in preparing newsletters and event coordination
  • Basic knowledge of resident care and activity programming
  • Ability to assist in training staff
  • Valid driver’s license if transporting residents

Job Duties

  • Assist the Director of Life Enrichment in planning, scheduling and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being
  • Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with scheduling and coordinating all resident activities monthly
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of weekly program contents
  • Assist with gathering information, articles, and photos for newsletter
  • Assist with planning and coordinating special events including events for seasonal holidays
  • Assist in planning and conducting arts program, entertainment for special events, monthly birthday parties, group games, weekly religious services and individual independent projects
  • Assist the Director in maintaining an adequate supply of books, puzzles, magazines and games
  • Assist the Director in training all staff on activity-related programs
  • May be responsible for transporting residents to appointments, as well as regular and special recreational outings
  • Assist the Director in communicating information to the Nursing department regarding activity ability changes in status that may require resident Care Plan updates
  • Report all program policy and procedures discrepancies to the Director of Life Enrichment
