Job Requirements

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living or senior care
  • Supervisory and management experience in volunteer and staff coordination
  • Current applicable driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and specialized applications
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
  • Ability to complete required training and certifications
  • Commitment to comply with health and safety policies such as drug testing and vaccinations as mandated
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or senior population exposure
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
  • One year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, coordination, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Maintains a current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
  • Knowledge of state/provincial regulations related to senior care
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate effectively

Job Duties

  • Maintain a balanced resident centered activity program for the whole Sunrise community
  • Assess, plan, and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program
  • Recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • Prepare and review the activity calendar and newsletter with the Executive Director
  • Coordinate with other department coordinators to ensure all equipment and supplies are available
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities
  • Conduct regularly scheduled and specialized activities in the Reminiscence Neighborhood
  • Provide support to Reminiscence Coordinator on program development
  • Network in the local community to build and maintain volunteer base
  • Manage volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
  • Involve families, residents, and volunteers in activity programs
  • Manage Smile quality reports and programming Key Performance Indicators dashboard
  • Review daily logs and resident profiles to assess social needs
  • Develop individualized activity programs
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly Resident Council Meetings
  • Assist Executive Director with community budget and department financial management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and Sunrise standards
  • Manage department recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Participate in Sunrise University Training programs
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals
  • Attend various team meetings
  • Maintain required training compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
