Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs
  • must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • and talk and hear
  • must be able to stay awake for the entire shift
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • 21 years of age or older
  • valid CPR/First aid Certification
  • less than 5 points on valid driver’s license
  • must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, staff, parents, and the general public

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • valid CPR/First aid Certification

  • 21 years of age or older
  • less than 5 points on valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and participates in resident field trips and leisure activities
  • plans and participates in indoor/outdoor activities including social and group interaction activities
  • coordinates staff and resident parties including special functions
  • prepares a monthly calendar of activities
  • maintains database for resident activities and field trips providing relevant information for annual IPs and 90-day reviews for residents
  • participates in team meetings
  • works directly with residents on skill developments
  • functions as active team member
  • assists Volunteer Coordinator with resident related activities
  • participates in initial, required and ongoing staff development trainings and in-services
