Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in a long-term care facility preferred
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with seniors
- frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching
- regular interaction with residents, staff, and visitors in a moderate noise environment

Job Duties
- Participate in planning and conducting individual, small, and large group activities
- assist in maintaining communication among residents, families, staff, and the community to ensure residents' needs and interests are met
- participate in community planning related to resident services and family engagement
- assist in developing the monthly activity calendar and maintaining attendance records
- support the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in implementing corrective action plans as needed
- participate in discharge planning and the development of activity care plans and resident assessments
- help arrange transportation for resident outings, appointments, and discharges
- assist in developing and facilitating a variety of activities including resident outings, group programs, and in-room visits for residents unable to attend group events
- encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, and reading activities
- provide necessary materials and resources including Braille or audio materials as appropriate
- assist with documentation and quarterly progress notes as directed by the Activity Director
- maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the Activity Department
