Job Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be able to read, write, speak and understand the english language
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination
- Be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the community
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Positive personality with a passion for working with seniors
- Good communication skills
- Ability to think independently and be self-motivated
- Organized and flexible with the ability to adapt to changing resident needs
- Experience working in a skilled nursing environment is a plus
- LNA license or interest in obtaining an LNA license preferred
Job Duties
- Enthusiastically run daily activities that engage our residents
- Develop new activities that appeal to the different interests of our residents
- Safely transport residents to and from activities
- Observe the status of residents regarding physical, emotional, social and spiritual health and report all changes in status to nursing staff
- Observe resident's rights
- Assist in evacuation of residents in an emergency
- Report to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality
- Work cooperatively/assist with other departments
- Represent the facility to family and community events
- Attend in-services, as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
