Job Requirements
- Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test
- Must provide MMR (mumps, measles, rubella) vaccination record
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must cope with mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics to ensure adequate sensory function
- Must meet general health requirements including medical and physical examination
- Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and occasionally agitated residents
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry such weight for 50 feet
- May assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies
- Must adhere to attendance policies as per Employee Handbook
- Must be able to work in exigent circumstances such as severe weather or staffing shortages
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work well with peers in a congenial environment
- Strong communication skills to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Compassionate and dignified approach to resident care
- Knowledge of resident rights and facility policies
- Creativity in activity planning and adaptability
- Experience working with elderly, disabled, or emotionally upset individuals preferred
Job Duties
- Comply with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards
- Create an engaging, home-like atmosphere by planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of activities
- Conduct activities for residents and their visiting family members or friends
- Uphold morale of residents by offering adequate and diversified engaging activities
- Inform residents of upcoming activities and distribute daily activity schedule
- Reach out to residents confined to their rooms with one-on-one entertainment
- Assist in planning and accompanying residents on outings
- Adapt activities creatively to fit day-to-day circumstances
- Maintain a lively, outgoing, inclusive, involved and engaged persona
- Keep current records of community services, resources, programs, and materials
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Live More Director and Executive Director
