Job Requirements

  • confidence to engage with seniors in large and small groups
  • creativity in providing fun for residents
  • ability to create appealing atmosphere for seniors with varying cognitive and physical abilities
  • effective communication skills with persuasion
  • comfort with social media and program promotion
  • proficiency in MS Office suite
  • team player with strong relationship building
  • adaptability to resident needs and preferences
  • willingness to learn about dementia and related conditions

Job Qualifications

  • at least 18 years of age
  • minimum one year of experience in customer service, event planning, or leading groups
  • current negative TB test
  • willingness to work in a healthcare/assisted living environment
  • ability to pass criminal record/background check
  • valid driver’s license with qualifying driver abstract
  • good time management skills
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • lead small and large group activities
  • plan and coordinate social events
  • create opportunities for physical, cognitive, and spiritual engagement
  • collaborate with the Life Enhancement Coordinator to develop programs
  • promote wellness programs including exercise and mindfulness
  • engage residents with arts, music, and continuous learning activities
  • foster socialization and family/friends involvement
