Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience preferred in assisted living or senior care
  • Supervisory and management experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Ability to pass required drug and health screenings
  • Ability to complete driver training if applicable
  • Willingness to comply with vaccination mandates when required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks effectively

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or senior population exposure
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members in social events and activities
  • One year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Current applicable driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Knowledge of state or provincial regulations related to senior care
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management
  • Commitment to quality assurance and regulatory compliance

Job Duties

  • Maintain a balanced resident centered activity program for the whole Sunrise community according to the programming calendar guidelines and wellness standards
  • Assess, plan, and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers
  • Recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • Prepare and review the activity calendar and newsletter with the Executive Director prior to printing
  • Coordinate with other department coordinators to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for activities
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities including assisted living, long term care, and reminiscence
  • Conduct scheduled and specialized activities in the Reminiscence Neighborhood with daily presence
  • Provide support to Reminiscence Coordinator and Resident Care Coordinator on reminiscence calendar and programs
  • Coordinate updates to residents’ Individualized Service Plans
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain a public relations program supporting activities and community operations
  • Delegate care and record maintenance for animals and plants in the activities program
  • Network with local businesses, organizations, and schools to build volunteer base
  • Manage volunteer orientation, training programs, and records
  • Implement volunteer recognition and appreciation programs
  • Involve families, residents, and volunteers regularly in activities
  • Train team members on talent use and values in activity programs
  • Manage Smile app check-ins, messaging, and quality reports
  • Oversee programming Key Performance Indicators dashboard
  • Review daily logs and resident profiles for social needs assessment
  • Develop individualized programs of focused care
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly Resident Council Meetings
  • Ensure Memory Boxes completion within two weeks of resident move-in
  • Assist Executive Director with annual budget and community financial management
  • Review financial statements and address budget deficiencies
  • Process monthly expenses and coordinate staff scheduling
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards
  • Manage recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions for department
  • Participate in Sunrise University training programs
  • Lead team member engagement and improvement initiatives
  • Conduct performance appraisals and maintain accountability
  • Attend regular meetings and professional development sessions
  • Maintain compliance with required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
