Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of relevant experience preferred
  • Supervisory and management experience required
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to pass background check, drug test, and physical evaluation
  • Compliance with Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination mandates if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living or senior population exposure
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
  • One year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, training, and coaching
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Maintains a current applicable driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of state or provincial regulations applicable to senior care
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Job Duties

  • Maintain a balanced resident-centered activity program
  • Assess, plan, and manage a comprehensive activities program
  • Recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • Prepare and review activity calendar and newsletter
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of equipment and supplies
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities
  • Conduct regularly scheduled and specialized activities in the Reminiscence Neighborhood
  • Provide support to Reminiscence Coordinator and Resident Care Coordinator
  • Update resident’s Individualized Service Plan
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain a public relations program for activities
  • Delegate care for animals and plants in the program
  • Network to build and maintain volunteer base
  • Manage volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
  • Involve families, residents, and volunteers in activities
  • Train team members on resident-centered activities and Smile app
  • Manage Smile quality reports and KPI dashboard
  • Review daily logs for resident information
  • Develop individualized programs of activities
  • Schedule and facilitate Resident Counsel Meetings
  • Assist in budget preparation and management
  • Review financial statements and implement action plans
  • Process monthly expenses and budget data
  • Coordinate community team for staff economies and cross training
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards
  • Lead departmental recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching
  • Participate in training and certification
  • Conduct performance appraisals
  • Attend regular team meetings
  • Maintain required training compliance
  • Perform other assigned duties
