Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience in assisted living, long term care, or senior care preferred
  • supervisory and management experience
  • valid driver’s license and able to maintain acceptable driving record
  • proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • successful completion of drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
  • Covid-19 and influenza vaccination if required by law
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or exposure to senior population
  • ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
  • one year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, coordination, training, coaching, and performance management
  • current, applicable driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • compliance with driver job description and training if applicable

Job Duties

  • Maintain a balanced resident centered activity program for the whole community according to Programming Calendar guidelines
  • assess, plan, and manage facilitation of comprehensive activities utilizing team members and volunteers
  • recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • prepare and review activity calendar and newsletter with Executive Director prior to printing
  • coordinate with department coordinators to ensure equipment and supplies for activities and events
  • plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities including assisted living, long term care, and reminiscence
  • conduct regularly scheduled and specialized activities in the Reminiscence Neighborhood
  • provide support to Reminiscence Coordinator and Resident Care Coordinator on reminiscence calendar and programs
  • coordinate with department coordinators to update resident’s Individualized Service Plan
  • ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • maintain a robust public relations program supporting activities and operations
  • manage volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
  • network with community partners to build volunteer base
  • involve families and residents in programs
  • train team members on utilizing talents for resident activities
  • manage Smile app quality reports and programming KPIs
  • review and document resident’s physical and behavioral changes
  • develop individualized programs of focused care activities
  • schedule and record monthly Resident Council Meetings
  • assist with annual community budget and manage department budget
  • review monthly financial statements and address deficiencies
  • ensure community compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards
  • partner with leadership to promote occupational health and safety and risk management programs
  • manage department recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
  • lead team member engagement and development initiatives
  • conduct performance appraisals and ensure accountability
  • attend various meetings and maintain professional development
  • ensure completion of required training
  • perform other duties as assigned
