Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year experience in senior living or related field preferred
- supervisory experience in managing staff and volunteers
- valid driver's license with good driving record
- proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
- availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- ability to train and lead teams effectively
- pass pre-employment drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
- comply with applicable vaccination mandates as required
- ability to handle multiple priorities and communicate effectively
- maintain compliance with Sunrise standards and regulations
Job Qualifications
- one year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or senior population exposure
- one year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
- ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
- valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours
- knowledge of state or provincial regulations related to senior care
- strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Job Duties
- maintain a balanced resident centered activity program according to programming calendar guidelines and wellness standards
- assess, plan, and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program using team members and volunteers
- recruit entertainers and schedule special events
- prepare and review activity calendar and newsletter with executive director
- coordinate with department coordinators to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for activities and events
- plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities for assisted living, long term care, and reminiscence residents
- conduct activities in the reminiscence neighborhood regularly
- provide support on reminiscence calendar development and coordinate programs
- update resident individual service plans
- ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- maintain a public relations program to support activities
- manage volunteer network and partnerships with local businesses and organizations
- implement volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
- engage families and community volunteers in activities
- train team members on talent utilization and values integration
- manage quality reports and programming key performance indicators
- review daily logs and assess residents' social needs
- develop individualized activity programs
- facilitate resident council meetings
- manage department budgeting, expenses, and financial reviews
- ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance
- recruit, train, coach, and discipline team members
- participate in training programs and engagement planning
- conduct performance appraisals and hold team accountable
- attend regular meetings and stay updated on professional developments
