Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or senior population exposure
  • supervisory and management experience
  • current applicable driver’s license
  • proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn new applications
  • ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
  • completion of driver training as applicable
  • ability to pass required health screenings and drug tests

Job Qualifications

  • one year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or senior population exposure
  • ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
  • one year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
  • current applicable driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • successful completion of driver training if driving Sunrise vehicles

Job Duties

  • maintain a balanced resident centered activity program for the community according to programming calendar guidelines and wellness standards
  • assess, plan, and manage facilitation of activities using team members and volunteers
  • recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • prepare and review the activity calendar and newsletter with the executive director
  • coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for activities
  • plan and facilitate mixed group activities including reminiscence sessions
  • conduct scheduled activities in the reminiscence neighborhood and maintain daily presence there
  • support reminiscence and resident care coordinators in programming efforts
  • coordinate updates to residents' individualized service plans
  • ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • manage a public relations program to support activities and community operations
  • delegate care of animals and plants within the activities program
  • network with community partners to build and maintain a volunteer base
  • implement volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
  • involve families and volunteers in activities with executive director assistance
  • train team members on use of talents and values
  • manage volunteer and programming quality reports and key performance indicators
  • review and document resident’s daily logs and behavioral changes
  • assess residents’ social needs and develop individualized programs
  • schedule and facilitate monthly resident council meetings
  • ensure completion of memory boxes for new residents
  • assist in community budget planning and manage department budget
  • review financial statements and address deficiencies
  • process and submit monthly expenses
  • coordinate staff economies and cross training
  • ensure compliance with quality assurance audits and regulatory standards
  • manage department operations including recruitment, training, coaching, and discipline
  • participate in training and development programs
  • achieve team engagement goals
  • handle scheduling, timekeeping review, payroll accuracy, and performance appraisals
  • maintain professional development and complete required training
  • attend regular meetings
  • perform other duties as assigned
