Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or with senior population
  • supervisory and management experience
  • current valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise software
  • ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
  • successful completion of required pre-employment screenings including drug test and physical evaluation
  • compliance with Covid-19 and influenza vaccination mandates when applicable

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living or long term care or exposure to senior population
  • one year supervisory and management experience including volunteer and staff recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
  • ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • maintains valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • knowledge of state and provincial regulations relating to senior care

Job Duties

  • Maintain a balanced resident centered activity program for the whole community
  • assess, plan, and manage facilitation of comprehensive activities utilizing team members and volunteers
  • recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • prepare and review activity calendar and newsletter with Executive Director
  • coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for activities
  • plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities including reminiscence neighborhood
  • conduct regularly scheduled and specialized activities maintaining daily presence
  • support reminiscence coordinator in developing calendars
  • update resident’s Individualized Service Plan
  • ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • maintain public relations program
  • delegate care of animals and plants in activities program
  • network with local businesses and organizations to build volunteer base
  • manage volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
  • involve families and community volunteers in activities
  • train team members on talent utilization and values
  • manage Smile app and quality reports
  • manage programming KPI dashboard
  • review daily logs for resident changes
  • develop individualized activity programs
  • schedule and facilitate resident council meetings
  • complete memory boxes for new residents
  • assist Executive Director with community budget
  • manage department budget and expenses
  • review financial statements and implement action plans
  • process monthly expenses timely
  • ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • manage recruitment, training, coaching, and discipline of department staff
  • participate in training programs
  • hold performance appraisals
  • attend regular leadership meetings
  • maintain professional development
  • ensure all required training is completed
  • perform other duties as assigned
