Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of relevant work experience in senior care or related field
  • Memory care experience is required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to complete required health screenings and drug testing
  • Compliance with vaccination requirements as applicable
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train and lead teams effectively.

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or exposure to the senior population
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and team members
  • One year supervisory and management experience including recruitment, coordination, training, coaching, and department operations
  • Maintains a current applicable driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
  • Completion of driver training if operating Sunrise vehicles
  • Experience with memory care programming is required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to facilitate small group presentations
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Job Duties

  • Maintain a balanced resident centered activity program for the whole Sunrise community according to the Programming Calendar guidelines and Live with Purpose/Dimension of Wellness Standards
  • Assess, plan, and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers
  • Recruit entertainers and schedule special events
  • Prepare and review the activity calendar and newsletter with the Executive Director prior to submitting for printing
  • Coordinate with other department coordinators to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for routine activities and special events
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate appropriate mixed group (assisted living/long term care and reminiscence) activities
  • Conduct regularly scheduled and specialized activities in the Reminiscence Neighborhood three times weekly while maintaining a daily presence
  • Provide support to the Reminiscence Coordinator/Resident Care Coordinator on the development of the reminiscence calendar and coordinate programs and events enjoyed by residents
  • Coordinate with other department coordinators to update resident’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state/provincial, and local laws and regulations
  • Maintain a robust public relations program in support of activities programming and community operations
  • Delegate daily care of animals/plants within the activities program and maintain related records
  • Network in the local community to build and maintain a volunteer base in partnership with other departments
  • Manage and implement volunteer orientation, training, and recognition programs
  • Involve families, residents, and community volunteers in activities regularly
  • Train team members on using their talents and living the company values
  • Manage Smile check-ins, messaging, and quality reports
  • Oversee programming Key Performance Indicators (KPI) dashboard
  • Review and document resident physical and behavioral changes through the Daily Log
  • Develop and implement individualized resident activity programs
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly Resident Council Meetings
  • Ensure completion of each resident’s Memory Box within two weeks of move-in
  • Assist in community budget presentation and management including labor and expenses
  • Review financial statements to address deficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance processes and regulatory standards
  • Partner with leadership on occupational health and safety regulations and risk management
  • Manage department staffing including recruitment, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance appraisals
  • Participate in Sunrise University Training and compliance training
  • Attend regular community meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
