Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in healthcare or activity coordination preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new activity models
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a healthcare or residential care setting preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new modalities and approaches
- Ability to build rapport easily with residents and families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Compassionate approach to working with residents facing end of life issues
Job Duties
- Assist the resident activity director as needed
- Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population
- Foster a sense of community within the center environment
- Lead and participate in individual and group activities
- Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy
- Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties
- Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families
- Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms
- Promote volunteer efforts in the community
- Maintain records of activities and attendance
- Store activity equipment and supplies and clean area after conclusion of the activity
- Utilize the biopsychosocial model to support resident well-being
- Provide or arrange for comfort/support to residents and families when needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned
