Job Description

The Adams County Health Department (ACHD) is a newly established public health organization that became part of Adams County Government as of January 1, 2023. With six functional divisions including Performance and Business Excellence, Strategic Health Initiative Division, Epidemiology and Data Science, Nursing, Environmental Health, Nutrition, and Family Health, ACHD serves the diverse population of Adams County with a dedicated team of around 200 staff members. Operating with an annual budget of approximately 30 million dollars, the department is committed to promoting health and well-being through various community outreach efforts and health programs.

Job Requirements

  • willingness to work weekends and some evenings from end of May to end of September
  • ability to work 100% in person at various community event locations throughout Adams County
  • ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • pass a criminal background check
  • pass a motor vehicle background check
  • commitment to excellent customer service
  • ability to be available by county-assigned phone while working
  • adhere to ACHD vision, purpose, and values

Job Qualifications

  • a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • at least two years of experience in customer service or event planning
  • strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • ability to interact with diverse cultures and populations
  • knowledge of event planning or management is a plus
  • bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required
  • ability to use translation tools for effective communication
  • valid Colorado Driver's License or ability to obtain one

Job Duties

  • assist with the proper execution of ACHD events in the community
  • identify equipment needs and essential inventory for each event
  • represent the image of the Adams County Health Department (ACHD)
  • deliver excellent customer service to citizens of Adams County
  • safely set up and tear down the ACHD canopy tent and tables at events
  • provide operational support of ACHD food access programs, including but not limited to administering intake surveys and distributing food boxes
  • establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted during work
