Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for an extended period, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties
- Ability to move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds
- Ability to perform all functions as set forth
- Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to follow company policies
- Must be courteous and attentive to customers
- Ability to work in a moderate noise environment
- Physical ability to perform lifting and stock duties
Job Qualifications
- Proven track record of being a team player
- Skilled at providing prompt, friendly, and attentive customer service
- Strong organizational skills with a passion for details
- Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others
- Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired
- Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred
- Continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise as arranged by management
- Maintain your assigned department keeping it clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management with a sense of urgency
- Cooperate with others and work well as part of a retail team
- Remove promotional bin tags and price tags following sales events
- Restock merchandise displays including watch end caps and side wings
- Handle special orders for all non-stock items
- Watch for shoplifters and take action according to company policy
- Provide the best possible experience for every customer by being helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly
- Stand in a main aisle when not assisting customers to monitor and assist in other departments
- Serve customers in assigned departments or storewide, greeting customers promptly
- Demonstrate the S.A.L.E.S. process
- Participate actively in store communication and initiatives
- Assist customers with simple complaints and involve managers as needed
- Use the Five Foot Rule to greet and acknowledge customers
- Always be polite, attentive, make eye contact, and smile
- Promote the Ace Rewards program and describe the Ace Helpful Promise
- Maintain awareness of promotions and advertisements
- Always wear radio and headset for effective communication
- Respond to Customer Coordinator questions as needed
- Assist customers with large or heavy items
- Offer customers a red basket for their shopping
- Assist in the training and development of peers
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervision
