Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Prior leadership experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to train and supervise staff

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Proven experience in accounting management preferably in hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and budget management
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and staff development capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including cash flow statements and management of receivables and payables
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses ensuring accurate recording per company guidelines
  • Create annual budgets and conduct monthly variance analysis with actionable recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and operational taxes
  • Analyze financial data and operations to advise management on financial objectives
  • Comply with standard accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Review and approve all balance sheet accounts, including monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Establish and audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, inventories, assets, payroll, and employee records
  • Coordinate and ensure successful completion of internal and external financial audits
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop accounting staff
  • Maintain compliance with company standards to ensure safe and efficient hotel operation
  • Prepare and direct financial reports meeting company deadlines
  • Manage weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting responsibilities
  • Interact with executive committee members to monitor property operations
  • Monitor compliance with reporting deadlines
  • Oversee accurate production of daily operating reports
  • Execute special projects as assigned
