Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years progressive financial experience in the hotel industry
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Knowledge and experience in systems implementation highly desirable
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Ability to lead and develop accounting teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and meet deadlines
  • Must comply with financial regulations and internal controls
  • Ability to work in an office environment and manage multiple tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years progressive financial experience in the hotel industry
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Knowledge and experience in systems implementation preferred
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems effectively
  • Understanding of data structures, workflows, and systems
  • Experience training and developing personnel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Familiarity with MS Dynamics, hospitality and inventory management software, POS systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Partner with Hotel Controller and management to align operational and financial needs
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Cashier, Income Audit, and Financial Reporting
  • Lead month-end closing and financial analysis
  • Review labor performance and productivity with operational leaders
  • Support budget preparation and monitoring
  • Collaborate with Accounting Manager on inventory valuation and reconciliation
  • Serve as liaison for audits and provide timely information
  • Lead and support Accounting team to foster a high-performing culture
  • Verify accuracy and quantity of accounting outputs
  • Set departmental goals and monitor progress
  • Participate in staff selection, onboarding, training, and development
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and safeguard hotel assets
  • Create policies and procedures to ensure compliance and security
  • Identify and implement accounting process improvements
  • Assist with finance system sourcing, implementation, testing, and training
  • Collaborate with IT and vendors on data integrations
  • Develop guides and training materials for system adoption
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with privacy standards
  • Manage other accounting departments in absence of Financial Controller
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
