Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred four year degree or equivalent experience
- Previous transportation industry experience preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks independently or in teams
- Adherence to company safety rules and professional conduct
- Ability to maintain professional appearance per dress code
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when necessary
- Proficient in English communication
- Ability to use computers effectively
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain focus
- Willingness to travel occasionally by air or car
- Ability to work in customer locations following their rules
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work with office equipment and computers
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and reporting tools
- Knowledge of transportation industry-specific logistics programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills with drivers, personnel, customers, and management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Direct and indirect management of drivers, office staff and customer accounts
- Direct management and oversight of Transportation Network Coordinators and Logistics Coordinators daily operations
- Management of freight and drivers' hours under DOT regulations to ensure safe and timely delivery
- Manage use of trucks and trailers with emphasis on utilization including slip-seating for local accounts
- Enforce company safety standards and collaborate with Safety department to address accidents and safety concerns
- Communicate proactively and professionally with customers to meet freight commitments and address needs
- Handle urgent situations professionally
